About The Position
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Cambridge Springs, you will lead hands-on food service training that helps inmates build confidence and ability. Requirements
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Teach inmates food preparation, production, baking, and service skills
- Guide inmates in proper sanitation, equipment use, cleaning, and storage practices
- Inspect food, tools, and work areas to verify compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Receive, store, and track food and supplies while following first in first out procedures
- Plan and review inmate job duties and maintain accurate work performance records
- Monitor inmate workers and uphold care, custody, and control during all work activities
