Requirements
- Four years of experience in laying brick, blocks, and other types of building materials, and binding with mortar to construct or repair walls; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the masonry trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the masonry trade.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Teach inmates standard techniques for constructing, repairing, and maintaining masonry surfaces and structures
- Deliver a clear curriculum that explains masonry principles, methods, and safe work practices
- Guide inmate work crews in completing masonry jobs as part of on the job learning
- Document inmate progress, attendance, and assignment information accurately
- Issue, track, and account for tools and materials used during instruction and project work
