About The Position
As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor with the Department of Corrections (DOC) at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill, you will lead hands-on learning that brings the electronics trade to life. You will guide inmates as they develop practical skills through structured classroom lessons and active shop projects. Each day introduces fresh technical challenges that keep the work dynamic and meaningful. Requirements
- Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Teach standard electronics practices and guide hands-on repair and installation tasks
- Lead inmate crews, assign tasks, and inspect completed work
- Issue, track, and verify all tools and materials used in training and work assignments
- Maintain and repair electronic systems such as alarms, cameras, door controls, and communication equipment
- Determine needed materials, submit purchase requests, and manage parts inventories
- Maintain training records, attendance, inventory logs, and repair documentation
