About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Partnerships, the Corporate Partnerships Officer is a key member of the development team at Feeding San Diego (FSD). This position is responsible for achieving and increasing corporate and community–based fundraising goals through corporate sponsorship and grants, cause marketing, campaigns, volunteer engagement, and other partnerships that generate funds and raise awareness. The Corporate Partnerships Officer will focus on building relationships with businesses to secure funding, sponsorships, and in-kind donations. This role involves fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement, acting as a bridge between the organization and potential corporate partners. Key responsibilities include developing fundraising strategies, identifying and cultivating relationships with corporate donors, and creating compelling proposals for funding.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, along with 2-3 years of professional experience in corporate development and community partnerships, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relationship building with demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners, and the ability to navigate relationships with C-suite executives.
  • Strong networking with excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling cases for support and deliver engaging presentations.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with donors.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work with CRM system.
  • A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Analytical Skills with the ability to research and analyze data, assess fundraising effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in working with volunteers.
  • Passion for the mission with a genuine enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and the desire to make a difference.
  • Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agency’s insurance carrier standards.

Responsibilities

  • Increase corporate philanthropic revenue for the organization through strategic partnerships and campaigns, focusing on gifts of $10,000+.
  • Manage relationships through prospect qualification, direct solicitation, stewardship, and cultivation.
  • Work closely with the Director of Corporate Partnerships to identify potential corporate funding sources that align with FSD’s mission and values.
  • Manage a portfolio of 120-150 corporate donors and prospects.
  • Creatively draw on best practices, research, experience, and relationships to make connections to potential hosts of cause marketing, fund drives, and/or third-party partners.
  • Represent Feeding San Diego for check presentations, occasional speaking opportunities, and corporate engagement events.
  • Create compelling presentations that include crafting persuasive proposals that articulate FSD’s mission, impact, and how corporate partnerships can benefit both the organization and the corporation.
  • Develop various written correspondence, proposals, and reports to communicate events, causes, and impacts to corporate donors and entities.
  • Prepare strategy, briefing, and debriefing materials for meetings with prospective event hosts, as needed.
  • In consultation with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, support pipeline development and revenue forecasts for corporate, community, and event-based fundraising.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications department to develop project plans and produce promotional materials for corporate giving and event activities.
  • Track all correspondence with contacts and donors in the CRM system.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Partnerships.
