The copywriter will be responsible for writing persuasive copy across various media platforms, managing new program launches, maintaining brand identity, and collaborating with stakeholders across marketing. Responsibilities
- Write copy across various media platforms, including advertising, direct mail, scripts, email marketing, print collateral, and websites.
- Create original and persuasive copy to promote and differentiate 2U's portfolio of products and brands.
- Manage new program launches and create brand style guides for product and brand collateral.
- Understand and work from creative briefs to meet project goals and offer creative solutions.
- Establish and maintain the voice, tone, and brand identity for multiple 2U partner programs and brands.
- Manage and maintain all copy assets for multiple programs and act as the direct point of contact.
- Manage multiple project deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proofread and edit marketing materials for clarity, style consistency, spelling, and grammar.
- Translate complex concepts into clear and concise copy.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Present work to stakeholders and provide strategic rationales that support creative.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing and uphold the creative team's mission and values.
- Work closely with other members of the creative team, including writers, designers, videographers, animators, and team leadership.
- Represent the creative team in meetings with stakeholders.
- Support junior copywriters and new team members.
- Communicate concerns, challenges, ideas, and solutions with manager and/or team leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years of copywriting experience required
- Knowledge of AP and Chicago style and experience using client style guides
- Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work on cross-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Openness to feedback and ability to take direction
- Ability to drive projects without a lot of oversight
- Interest in best practices and emerging developments in digital marketing
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and analytically
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to show initiative and problem-solve proactively
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Experience in an agency setting preferred
