About The Position

The position is responsible for ensuring that students with documented disabilities have equal access to college programs in compliance with ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Must comply with PA Act 15. Will need to present completed clearances and training certificates at the time of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains documentation from students requesting disability services and reviews for required information. Contacts professionals for additional information if necessary.
  • Conducts intake interviews with students to review documentation and determines necessary accommodations for college level.
  • Monitors provision of testing accommodations in cooperation with proctors and trains new proctors as needed. May provide proctoring for Reading or Scribing accommodations as needed.
  • Maintains service records through Accommodate case management software.
  • Collaborates with faculty and administration regarding provision of classroom and campus accessibility and accommodations, disability services issues and procedures.
  • Communicates with and/or provides training to students, faculty parents and agency personnel to provide information on disability services.
  • Reviews student's assistive technology needs and orders alternative texts upon student request as needed.
  • Coordinates interpreter scheduling and verifies service hours for billing purposes.
  • Attends OCLER/SAS meetings as required,; and professional development workshops and actively participates in college-wide activities.
  • Contributes to the development of the annual OCLER objectives and provides input for strategic plan goals for the college.
  • Participates in college-wide accessibility related committees for students with disabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
