About The Position

Mission View Health Center, a skilled nursing facility in San Luis Obispo, California, is hiring a part-time Cook for the AM shift. The schedule is 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, and flexibility is required. The Cook prepares and helps serve meals, assists residents with food service when needed, and cleans and maintains assigned dining and kitchen areas. The role involves working cooperatively with employees and interacting with geriatric and disabled residents.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a background check, reference check, physical exam, and TB clearance.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortably handle extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting.
• Have an interest and ability to work with geriatric and disabled residents.
• Have a positive attitude, strong team spirit, and good verbal communication skills.
• Be flexible and available for the AM shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
• Help serve breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
• Help serve food to residents when needed.
• Clear and clean the dining room after meals or snacks, which may include rinsing pots, pans, and utensils; cleaning the sink; and clearing trash.
• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Maintain a pleasant working relationship with other employees.
• Perform duties according to the schedule.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
