About The Position

Des Moines Renaissance Savery is seeking a part-time AM Server for its StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. The server creates a welcoming atmosphere and memorable guest experiences by providing prompt, friendly, and professional service. Duties include taking and delivering food and beverage orders, answering questions and making recommendations, supporting guest satisfaction, processing payments, and maintaining clean and safe service areas. The role also assists other service personnel as requested.

Responsibilities

Take food and beverage orders accurately, record them in an order notebook, repeat orders to guests for clarity, and enter or relay orders through the point-of-sale system.
Serve food and drinks promptly, courteously, and professionally.
Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, dietary options, food preparation, and daily specials; make suggestions about food, service, and appropriate wines.
Check in with guests, respond to additional requests, and identify when meals are complete and guests are ready for checkout.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are correct and delivered on time.
Handle payments, issue receipts, return change, process credit cards, or refer guests to the cashier; follow cash-handling procedures.
Greet guests warmly and assist the host or hostess with seating, following proper seating etiquette.
Maintain cleanliness of tables, stations, and service areas and follow food-safety, sanitation, and other safety procedures.
Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
Notify a manager immediately of guest complaints.
Assist service personnel with duties as requested.
