About The Position

Mission View Health Center is hiring a part-time Cook at its skilled nursing facility in San Luis Obispo, California. The position is for the AM shift, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, and requires flexibility. The Cook prepares and serves meals, assists residents with food service when needed, and cleans dining and kitchen areas. The role includes maintaining assigned areas in an orderly condition and working cooperatively with other employees.

Requirements

• Ability to successfully pass a background check, reference check, physical exam, and TB clearance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods.
• Interest and ability to work with geriatric and disabled residents.
• Positive attitude and strong team spirit.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility and availability for the AM shift, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
• Help serve breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
• Help serve food to residents when needed.
• Clear and clean the dining room after meals or snacks, including rinsing pots, pans, and utensils; cleaning the sink; and clearing trash.
• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Maintain a pleasant working relationship with other employees.
• Perform duties according to the schedule.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
