About The Position

The Cook performs duties related to producing hot and cold food items, baked goods, and meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors, as well as special functions. The role monitors the quality of food produced and works closely with hot and cold food production to provide high-quality products daily. The Cook follows standardized recipes and production sheets and ensures food is prepared according to established sanitation and food-safety standards. The position maintains quality standards for cooking methods, procedures, therapeutic diet restrictions, presentation, and portion control.

Requirements

At least one year of food-service cooking experience, or a combination of food-service experience and a Culinary Arts degree.
Ability to read and write well enough to understand and follow equipment operating instructions and IFUs and complete required documentation.
Basic arithmetic skills for counting instruments and completing count sheets.
Basic computer skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Line cook experience with hot-food preparation.
Culinary Arts degree.
ServSafe certification.
