About The Position

The Cook performs duties related to producing hot and cold food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors, as well as for special functions and baking. The role monitors the quality of food produced and works closely with hot and cold food production to deliver high standards of product each day. The Cook follows standardized recipes and production sheets and ensures food is prepared according to established sanitation and food safety standards. The position maintains quality standards for cooking methods and procedures, therapeutic diet restrictions, presentation, and portion control.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of food service cooking experience, or a combination of food service experience and a Culinary Degree.
• Ability to read and write to understand and follow equipment operating instructions and IFUs and to complete required documentation.
• Basic arithmetic skills for counting instruments and completing count sheets.
• Basic computer skills, problem-solving skills, and good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Line cook experience with hot food preparation.
• Culinary Arts degree.
• ServSafe certification.
