About The Position

Brock & Company is hiring a full-time Cook for its corporate dining kitchen. The Cook prepares, cooks, and serves foods as determined by the supervisor, following instructions for menu production, recipes, cooking techniques, and food presentation. The role includes preparing fresh soups, sauces, salads, entrées, catering dishes, and other menu items; setting up stations before service; and maintaining a clean, safe work area in accordance with health, safety, and food-handling regulations. The Cook also provides courteous customer service and may perform other duties assigned by the supervisor. The position pays $18–$22 per hour. Uniforms and meals are provided. Brock & Company is a family-owned contract food management company serving private and independent schools and corporations in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

Requirements

Understand and follow verbal and written food recipes, production orders, cooking instructions, and techniques for preparing daily menus.
Follow health and safety regulations concerning equipment use and personal hygiene.
Be able to stand for extended periods.
Be able to move objects weighing approximately 35 pounds to waist height.
Adhere to client and company COVID-19 workplace safety and sanitation protocols.
Have a positive can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and serve soups, sauces, salads, entrées, catering dishes, and other foods as determined by the Chef Manager.
Set up the station before service with appropriate equipment and food as directed by the supervisor.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with supervisor instructions and applicable health, safety, and food-handling regulations.
Provide courteous customer service at all times.
Receive, unpack, unwrap, date, rotate, and stow deliveries.
Follow client and company protocols related to COVID-19 workplace safety and sanitation standards.
Perform other duties as determined by the supervisor.
