About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a service-oriented Cook for Hotel Melby. The Cook prepares food to specifications for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquets, and helps maintain sanitation, food safety, inventory rotation, and clean, organized storage areas. The role may also work with a manager to create specials and menu variations and perform other assigned duties. The position is tipped eligible. The hiring process may include interviews, a drug screen, background and reference checks, and a potential employment assessment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role is required.
Basic understanding of, or ability to learn, workplace sanitation and safety regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of food preparation health and safety guidelines.
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work as a team player.

Minimum of a high school education preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain high sanitation standards throughout the area of responsibility.
Ensure food storage areas are clean and organized.
Handle and store food items properly at the conclusion of each shift.
Rotate inventory properly.
Prepare food according to specifications for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquets.
Maintain clean and orderly storage areas and product pars.
Work with the manager to create specials and other menu variations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
