About The Position

The Village at Summerville is seeking a professional and compassionate Cook to help create a warm, homelike experience for residents. The role involves preparing meals in accordance with resident diets, maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen, monitoring food storage and quality, and following sanitation and temperature-monitoring procedures. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods, such as grilling, baking, and boiling.
Knowledge of cooking temperatures for various types of food, including meats, vegetables, and desserts.
Excellent customer service skills.
One year of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or hospitality setting.

ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up workstations with needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
Establish the line for each meal period and prepare plates according to residents’ diets, including late trays.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat.
Dress dishes before serving to ensure good presentation.
Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly.
Monitor sanitation procedures according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
Monitor hot and cold temperature logs daily.
Ensure food and other items are stored properly.
Check the quality of ingredients.
