About The Position

The Cook is an all-hands role at Avita of Brunswick, assisting wherever needed in the kitchen and dining room. Working closely with the Culinary Director, the Cook helps prepare, cook, serve, and clean up meals for residents. The role includes interacting with residents, sharing the daily menu, and helping ensure residents are satisfied. The employer provides training for candidates who are eager to learn, even if they have not worked in a restaurant or customer service before.

Requirements

• Be open to changing roles and duties as needed.
• Maintain a positive attitude, especially during busy periods.
• Be patient and understanding when residents or customers have requests or concerns.
• Notice when cleaning is needed and help keep the dining area tidy and safe.
• Pass a criminal background screening.

Nice To Haves

• Previous restaurant or customer-service experience; training is available for candidates who are eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food as needed according to the Culinary Director’s direction.
• Interact with residents in a friendly manner, share the daily menu, and help ensure they are satisfied.
• Serve meals to residents kindly.
• Assist with cooking during meal service.
• Clean pots and pans and maintain a clean kitchen area.
• Keep the kitchen and dining room clean and follow food-safety rules.
• Adapt to changing duties and assist in areas that need help.
