About The Position

Bayberry at Emerald Court is hiring a Chef / Cook to prepare meals for residents and contribute to a welcoming culinary experience in senior living. The role is mostly scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with one or two shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and includes every other weekend. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time employment; a $250 sign-on bonus is offered for part-time employment.

The Cook prepares food to established standards and guidelines, collaborates with the Culinary Director on resident-focused menus, maintains a clean and organized kitchen in accordance with health and safety rules, and develops new dishes residents will enjoy. The role requires professionalism in culinary interactions and operations. A criminal background screening is required. Candidates must show valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination before starting work or commit to becoming fully vaccinated within 30 days of starting, unless granted an approved exemption.

Requirements

• Experience as a cook or chef in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and different cooking methods.
• Good time management and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Knowledge of food safety rules and best practices.
• Complete a criminal background screening.
• Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days, unless an exemption is approved.
