About The Position
Streets of New York is seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to prepare food and help deliver a memorable dining experience at its Peoria, Arizona restaurant. Cooks prepare menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards, keep workstations stocked and organized, and work with kitchen staff to provide timely service. The role requires following food safety and sanitation practices, maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils, and assisting with inventory and menu development as needed. Some heavy lifting is required, including lifting 50-pound bags of flour and moving boxes containing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other items.
Requirements
- Current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, methods, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as necessary.
- Authorization to work in the United States; candidates will be submitted through E-Verify.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Streets of New York recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and follow health and safety regulations.
- Assist with food inventory management and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely service.
- Clean, maintain, and properly store equipment and utensils.
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols.
- Assist with menu item development and special promotions as needed.
- Lift 50-pound bags of flour and move boxes of varying sizes and weights containing food items.
