About The Position

Lloyd's Barbeque, a subsidiary of Hormel Corporation, is hiring a Cook/Sauce Operator at its Mendota Heights facility. The position starts at $25.00 per hour and involves cooking and preparing products, making sauce, operating food processing and packaging equipment, and supporting the production line. The operator must follow plant safety rules, good manufacturing practices, product recipes, and required documentation procedures. The role may also provide coverage for other plant positions as needed; additional pay is provided when relieving a higher-pay-grade position.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to work safely.
Be able to bend and turn at the waist, squat, and reach overhead.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to learn and perform multiple positions after training.
Be able to work in a refrigerated environment of 35–45 degrees.
Have good communication skills.
Be able to handle a variety of meat products, including pork.

Responsibilities

Abide by all Lloyd's Barbeque plant safety rules.
Operate food packaging machinery for pork and beef ribs.
Operate food processing equipment.
Assist with coordinating and running a food processing line.
Cook products such as ribs and shredded meats.
Load and unload products in and out of ovens.
Organize, monitor, and track products removed from cooked ovens.
Perform product inspection checks.
Follow product cook recipes.
Formulate and make sauce for products.
Complete required paperwork correctly and on time.
Operate an electric pallet jack; in-house training is provided.
Relieve other Lloyd's BBQ plant positions as necessary; additional pay is provided when relieving a higher-pay-grade position.
Follow good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
Perform assigned washroom and production duties as directed by the first-line supervisor.
