$21.45+ General Worker 2nd Shift - Lloyd's BBQ
About The Position
Lloyd's Barbeque, a subsidiary of Hormel Corporation, is hiring General Workers at its Mendota Heights facility. The role involves work on food-processing and packaging operations for pork and beef ribs, including preparing ribs for smoking and cooking, operating processing and packaging equipment, inspecting and labeling products, packing cases, and stacking cases onto pallets. Workers may operate an electric pallet jack after receiving in-house training and may relieve other plant positions as needed. The position also includes completing paperwork, following plant safety rules and good manufacturing practices, and performing other washroom or production duties assigned by the first-line supervisor. Additional pay is provided when relieving a position in a higher pay grade.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work safely.
- Ability to bend and turn at the waist, squat, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to learn and perform multiple positions after training.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment of 35–45 degrees.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to handle a variety of meat products, including pork.
Responsibilities
- Abide by all Lloyd's Barbeque plant safety rules.
- Operate a food packaging machine for pork and beef ribs.
- Operate food-processing equipment.
- Assist with coordinating and running a food-processing line.
- Hang pork and beef ribs for smoking.
- Unload pork and beef ribs and place them into a packaging machine.
- Load product onto stands for cooking.
- Perform product inspection checks.
- Label product packages and cases.
- Place finished product into cases.
- Pick up and stack product cases onto pallets.
- Complete necessary paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
- Operate an electric pallet jack after receiving in-house training.
- Relieve other Lloyd's BBQ plant positions as necessary.
- Follow good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- Perform washroom and production duties as assigned by the first-line supervisor.
