About The Position

The Cook I is responsible for preparing food for patients, associates, and other guests. The role reviews menus and customer orders to determine the type and quantities of food to prepare. It also prepares and serves daily menu-cycle items at the grill and deli station while maintaining food-service areas and equipment according to department standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience in cooking or a relevant area.
Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.

Responsibilities

Attend department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, and other assigned activities.
Meet customer needs and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
Maintain and replenish cafeteria stock as needed according to department standards.
Maintain cleanliness in the cafeteria, serving areas, and tray-return areas, and ensure equipment is sanitized.
Demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude.
Prepare and serve daily menu-cycle items for the grill and deli station.
Clean and stock the work area after each meal.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
