About The Position

The Converting Lead supports converting operations at International Paper’s Columbus Box Plant. The role maintains an accurate daily lineup of finished goods, makes decisions about material and product quality, operates converting machinery when needed, and addresses issues affecting production quality or quantity. The lead ensures associates complete required inspections and tests, makes adjustments for product returns, trains others in the safe use of finishing machinery, and provides support to supervisors and production teams. The position is hourly, full-time, and flexible with shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Keep an accurate account of the finished goods daily lineup.
• Make decisions regarding the quality of materials and products.
• Operate converting machinery when needed.
• Resolve issues that hinder production quality and quantity.
• Ensure associates perform required inspections and tests.
• Make changes and adjustments for product returns as necessary.
• Train others in the safe use of finishing machinery.
• Fill in for the converting supervisor as needed.
• Assist converting supervisors with special projects as needed.
• Provide input during lead team and production meetings.
• Perform other duties as directed by the manufacturing supervisor.
