About The Position

The Converting Lead works at International Paper’s Columbus Box Plant in Columbus, Georgia. The role supports converting operations by maintaining safety standards, tracking finished goods, evaluating material and product quality, operating converting machinery as needed, and addressing production issues. The lead also supports and trains associates, fills in for the converting supervisor as needed, contributes to production meetings and special projects, and performs other duties as directed by the manufacturing supervisor. The position is hourly, full-time, and flexible with shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Keep an accurate account of the finished goods daily lineup.
• Make decisions regarding the quality of materials and products.
• Operate converting machinery when needed.
• Resolve issues that hinder production quality and quantity.
• Ensure associates perform required inspections and tests.
• Make changes and adjustments for product returns as necessary.
• Train others in the safe use of finishing machinery.
• Fill in for the converting supervisor as needed.
• Assist converting supervisors with special projects as needed.
• Provide input during lead team and production meetings.
• Perform other duties as directed by the manufacturing supervisor.
