About The Position
Responsible for managing all aspects and functions of the Convention Services Department in accordance with hotel standards. Coordinates arrangements and details for clients' functions and directs, implements, and maintains a management philosophy that guides Convention Services staff. The position is at Hotel Caza, a family-friendly boutique-style hotel in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf that recently completed an expansive renovation.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of college; a degree is desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Delphi.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to network effectively.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of experience in a similar position in a similar operation.
- Catering sales experience.
- Fluency in a foreign language.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate client and individual guest needs associated with event execution.
- Resolve complaints and requests to the client's satisfaction.
- Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, including times, locations, attendance, and specified requirements.
- Review the previous day's sales and labor costs, resolve discrepancies with Accounting, and track actuals against budget.
- Manage group room blocks through the contracted cutoff date.
- Prepare accurate deposit invoices.
- Review final bills for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute accurate Banquet Event Orders in a timely manner.
- Manage all aspects and functions of the Convention Services Department in accordance with hotel standards.
- Coordinate arrangements and details for client functions.
- Guide Convention Services staff by implementing and maintaining a management philosophy.
