About The Position

The Convention Services Manager is responsible for managing all aspects and functions of the Convention Services Department in accordance with hotel standards. The role coordinates arrangements and details for client functions and directs, implements, and maintains a management philosophy that guides Convention Services staff. The position is at Hotel Caza, a renovated boutique-style hotel in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.

Requirements

At least two years of college; a degree is desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience in a similar position in a similar operation.
Experience with Delphi.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Catering sales experience.
Superior relationship-building skills and the ability to network effectively.
Fluency in a foreign language.

Responsibilities

Anticipate client and individual guest needs associated with the execution of events.
Resolve complaints and requests to the client’s satisfaction.
Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, including times, locations, attendance, and specified requirements.
Review previous-day sales and labor costs and resolve discrepancies with Accounting.
Track actual results against budget.
Manage group room blocks until the contracted cutoff date.
Prepare accurate deposit invoices.
Review final bills for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare and distribute accurate banquet event orders in a timely manner.
