About The Position

EMCOR Services NY/NJ has an opportunity for a Controls Service Technician. The Controls Services Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations. Requirements

  • Field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls
  • Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical systems
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, N4 Workbench, AutoCAD, various operating systems
  • Proven track record of completing projects, being self-motivated and achieving customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Honeywell Niagara/Tridium N4 is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices
  • Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct supervision
  • Perform functional testing and system validation
  • Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved.
  • Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are implemented
  • Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems.
  • Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work.
  • Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS
  • Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems, and Boilers
  • Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies.
  • Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation process
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed and approved by supervisor
  • Deploy, revise, checkout, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management and controls systems hardware, software and firmware.
