About The Position

JPMorganChase is hiring a Vice President Control Manager in Asset & Wealth Management (AWM), partnering with WM Investment Product Operations as a first line of defense strategic partner. The role supports proactive operational risk management by understanding business processes, assessing risks, designing sustainable controls, identifying and escalating issues, and developing creative solutions. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders across the business and contribute to a rigorous approach to risk management, data-driven governance, and continuous improvement.

The Control Manager will lead and support a dynamic team, fostering innovation and operational excellence. The position also uses analytics and AI/LLM capabilities to anticipate trends and strengthen the risk and control environment. Control Management maintains a consistent control environment through joint accountability between managers and functions and regions, with a focus on control design and expertise, risk and control identification and assessment, issues and control deficiencies, and control governance and reporting.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, or operational risk management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to design and implement change-management strategies for complex initiatives, drive adoption while minimizing disruption, and train others on best practices.
• Ability to build trusted partnerships across business, operations, technology, audit, and compliance; align competing priorities; manage conflict constructively; and influence or negotiate scope, timelines, and risk decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring clear and concise messages to audiences, distilling complex topics, and addressing challenges confidently with facts.
• Critical and strategic thinking skills, including structuring ambiguous problems, synthesizing data to uncover root causes and risks, evaluating options and trade-offs, and challenging assumptions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, integrate diverse perspectives, foster inclusive collaboration across Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk, and advise others on team dynamics.

• Business acumen covering business models, products, services, client journeys, operating models, relevant regulations, and where value and risk arise across end-to-end processes.
