The Contract Administrator is assigned to a team that administers government contracts, grants, or agreements for one or more contractors. The incumbent manages an assigned group of contracts and performs the full range of contract functions, up to the point of signature, including contract administration and closeout. The role reviews new contracts for required clauses; monitors contractor compliance with applicable laws, delivery schedules, payment provisions, data-reporting requirements, and other contract terms; coordinates with the buying office on waiver or deviation requests; and reviews requests and meets with contractors to clarify requirements. Contracts are monitored using electronic systems, with electronic documentation maintained. This is a permanent GS-11 position with a four-year deployment commitment. The incumbent must deploy to austere forward operating locations in war zones at the direction of the Combatant Commander; typical deployments last six to nine months. During an overseas deployment, the employee may be temporarily promoted to GS-12 if eligible, and will return to the permanent GS-11 grade upon return to the United States. After successfully completing the four-year commitment, the employee will be placed in a non-deployable position in the CMO for which they were hired. The position is Emergency-Essential and requires compliance with deployment medical standards, theater entry requirements, and required immunizations. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime during deployment.
