About the position
The Technical/Content Writer will be responsible for creating and reviewing product documentation, documenting APIs and technical software development processes, and creating content/copy for customer-facing experiences. They will work closely with the product management team and attend engineering meetings to gather technical information for external audiences. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic computer engineering and user experience, as well as strong communication and writing skills. They will work with a variety of internal technical resources and cross-functional teams to produce and maintain world-class documentation.
Responsibilities
- Work with product managers, product marketing, and software engineers to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including: User Manuals/Guides, Integration Guides, Technical Processes, etc.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Work with Product Managers and UX designers to create Customer facing website and product content
- Work with Product Managers, Product Marketing, UX designers and Customer Experience Teams to draft Customer communication via email, texts
- Help design and write content for Customer surveys in collaboration with Product and Marketing
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic computer engineering and user experience
- Demonstrably strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to simplify complex ideas
- Experience in software engineering, technical writing, teaching, curriculum development, or scientific publication
- Ability to work with subject matter experts from software engineering, UI/UX developers, product managers, sales & marketing
- Experience in authoring, editing, and reviewing product documentation
- Experience in documenting APIs and technical software development processes
- Ability to create a variety of top-quality materials such as user manuals, application notes, white papers, and technical documentation including infographics and screenshot markups
- Ability to work with product managers, product marketing, and software engineers to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including user manuals/guides, integration guides, technical processes, etc.
- Ability to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
- Ability to work with product managers and UX designers to create customer-facing website and product content
- Ability to work with product managers, product marketing, UX designers, and customer experience teams to draft customer communication via email and texts
- Ability to design and write content for customer surveys in collaboration with product and marketing
- Ability to create content for marketing materials such as brochures, infographics, and script for videos
- Ability to gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality
- Ability to maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use
- Ability to create in-depth user guides, FAQs, technical overviews, and in-product help documentation
- Ability to write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users
- Ability to assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables.
