About The Position

Mariner Finance is hiring a Consumer Lending Sales Associate to provide customer service and support consumer lending sales at an assigned branch. The role involves understanding customer needs, presenting loan solutions and other available products, processing loan applications, reviewing credit and financial information, and helping customers resolve past-due balances. The associate is also responsible for meeting individual and branch sales goals, maintaining a cash drawer, processing payments, and making required daily deposits. The role requires learning and following applicable consumer lending laws and obtaining any licenses required to sell insurance products offered by the branch.

The employee must perform work at the assigned branch location, except in certain emergencies as determined by the company. Work is scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. Schedules may change to address business needs, and hours depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced. The job requires frequent sitting, use of computer and phone systems, reaching, and communicating; occasional movement and lifting or moving up to 20 pounds are also required.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs, with the ability to learn financial services programs.
• Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Ability to perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in the event of an emergency as determined by the company.

Nice To Haves

• Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
• Some college coursework.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and enthusiastically presenting available sales products.
• Process credit loan applications.
• Analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
• Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
• Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to sales of company products and services.
• Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
• Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
• Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
• Obtain applicable licenses required to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
