Consumer Lending Sales Associate
About The Position
Mariner Finance is hiring a Consumer Lending Sales Associate to provide customer service and support consumer lending sales at an assigned branch. The role processes loan applications, reviews customer credit and financial information, offers loan solutions and other products, and works toward individual and branch sales goals. It also involves contacting customers with past-due balances, maintaining a cash drawer, processing payments, and making daily deposits. The associate must follow applicable consumer lending laws and obtain any required licenses to sell insurance products offered by the branch. The position requires in-person work at the assigned branch, except in emergencies as determined by the company. The posted base salary range is $18.00–$19.16 per hour. The position is eligible for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; and Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Saturday work may be required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change work hours to address business needs. The role is physically based in an office. Duties include extended periods of sitting, using a computer and phone, reaching, communicating, and occasionally moving about and lifting or moving up to 20 pounds.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs, and ability to learn financial services programs.
- Ability to complete essential duties and functions accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
- Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location except in a company-determined emergency.
Nice To Haves
- Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
- Some college coursework.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and presenting available sales products.
- Process credit loan applications and analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
- Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
- Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to sales of company products and services.
- Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
- Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
- Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
- Obtain applicable licenses required to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
