About The Position

The Consumer Lending Sales Associate provides customer service and sales support at an assigned Mariner Finance branch. The role helps customers identify loan solutions, processes credit applications, reviews customer credit and financial information, and works to resolve past-due balances. The associate is expected to meet individual and branch sales goals, comply with consumer lending laws, and handle cash transactions and deposits. Additional duties may be assigned to support customer service and branch operations.

This position is performed in person at the assigned branch. The regular schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change schedules to address business needs. The role pays a base salary of $18.00–$20.15 per hour and is eligible for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs and ability to learn financial services programs.
• Ability to complete essential duties and functions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Must obtain applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered by the branch.
• Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in an emergency as determined by the company in consultation, as necessary, with applicable regulatory agencies.

Nice To Haves

• Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
• Some college coursework.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and presenting available sales products.
• Process credit loan applications and analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
• Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
• Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to sales of company products and services.
• Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
• Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
• Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing.
