About The Position

Clark Builders is hiring Concrete Finishers in Red Deer, Alberta. The role is responsible for placing and finishing concrete floors, slabs, columns, walls, and other structures to required specifications. Work is often outdoors, and environmental conditions such as weather and heights are relevant. This is a safety-sensitive position. The Concrete Finisher reports to a Foreman or Superintendent and works with a team and other sub-trades, sometimes with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Complete 1st-, 2nd-, 3rd-, or 4th-year apprenticeship training, or hold a Journeyperson certificate.
• Be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to perform repetitive motions and bend, crouch, or kneel for long periods throughout the day.
• Be capable of working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, depending on the season.
• Be able to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Valid first aid certificate.
• Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015.

Responsibilities

• Place wet concrete into forms and spread it to the specified depth.
• Level and smooth concrete surfaces, round edges, and create joints or grooves to help control cracking.
• Apply architectural, exposed, patterned, stamped, broomed, or smooth finishes.
• Use dry-pack grouting and epoxy materials as needed and ensure concrete cures correctly.
• Plan sequences and methods of work.
• Maintain a clean construction site.
• Work with a team and other sub-trades to complete projects, executing work with minimal supervision.
• Perform other assigned construction-related duties.
• Represent Clark Builders professionally and respectfully.
• Follow Clark Builders policies and procedures.
