About The Position

Concrete Specialists pour, level, and smooth concrete for surfaces such as roads, curbs, floors, and sidewalks. The work may include cutting expansion joints with a power saw, aligning forms to the desired depth and pitch, directing concrete casting, preparing and cleaning surface areas, and completing moldings with a variety of hand-held and power tools.

The Concrete Finisher sets forms, inspects surfaces, coordinates concrete casting with the truck driver, and pours, smooths, and levels concrete. The role also involves monitoring weather effects on curing, applying sealing and hardening components, compacting concrete with a power vibrator, constructing expansion joints, polishing surfaces, maintaining basic hand tools, and performing related duties such as light demolition or grading as assigned. The position requires compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools, including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Carpentry skills.
• Basic blueprint comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Set forms that hold the concrete in place.
• Clean and inspect surfaces for pouring issues.
• Direct the casting of concrete with the truck driver.
• Pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, including handheld and power-tool versions.
• Monitor the effects of weather on the curing process.
• Apply sealing and hardening components.
• Safely operate a power vibrator to compact concrete.
• Mold and construct expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Polish surfaces using a power surfacing machine.
• Maintain and provide basic hand tools necessary for the work.
• Perform related duties, including light demolition or grading, as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
