Concession Lead (On Call)
About The Position
The Concession Lead is responsible for the successful operation of an assigned concession stand at Hofstra University and supervises stand staff. The role sells food and beverages to spectators at events, handles customer payments, monitors cash, maintains supplies and equipment, trains attendants, and supports compliance with applicable workplace and health regulations. This is an on-call position. Days and hours may vary, and work may be affected by periods when educational facility food-service needs decline or cease, such as winter and summer breaks. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during break periods. Prior food service and concession experience is preferred but not required; Hofstra University students are encouraged to apply. Training is available. The stated pay range is $19.50 to $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Sell concessions, including soft drinks and food items, to spectators at events.
- Receive customer payments and provide correct change.
- Monitor the cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available.
- Take inventory of supplies and equipment and maintain stock at the required operational level.
- Train concession stand attendants.
- Oversee timekeeping accuracy and compliance with OSHA and Health Department regulations.
- Contribute to the team and act professionally with customers, fellow employees, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
