Computer Support Technician
About The Position
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is hiring a Computer Support Technician in Linthicum, Maryland, to support the design, development, and integration of mixed Linux and Windows operating system development laboratories for the Remote Sensing Programs (RSP) Business Unit. The role supports the RSP Space Development Lab Network, including network administration, maintenance, and compliance. No clearance is required to start, but the employee must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance to meet business needs. U.S. citizenship is required. Travel and relocation assistance are not available.
Requirements
- Two years of experience with a high school diploma for Computer Support 2.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance to meet business needs.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with Windows and Linux.
- Experience debugging and resolving information technology problems.
- Hands-on experience setting up and configuring information technology equipment.
- Experience performing security patching and testing on servers and PCs.
Nice To Haves
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with software development labs and software/hardware integration.
- Bash or Python scripting experience.
- ESXi and VMware experience.
- Experience with networks and networking equipment.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 network compliance.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
- CISSP certification.
- Red Hat certifications.
Responsibilities
- Support network topology, inventory, and configuration.
- Define and implement upgrades to the IT environment.
- Perform new server builds.
- Write scripts to optimize the IT environment.
- Provide Level 2 support for system configuration, setup, and requested baseline configuration changes.
- Assist with resolving computer problems beyond the knowledge of engineering staff.
- Assist in administering, maintaining, and ensuring compliance of the RSP Space Development Lab Network.
