About the position
The job overview for this role is that the successful candidate will be a key member of the compliance team, working closely with engineers, consultants, and test labs around the world to ensure e-bike projects comply with local and international laws and regulations. The role involves coordinating with product developers and engineers to ensure all parts of the pedal assist bicycle meet international requirements, managing bicycle testing done by third-party labs, and reviewing test results to ensure all aspects have been tested and approved. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences, hand-on experience in Excel, Jira, Confluence, and PLM software, and good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Product Developers and engineers to ensure all parts of the pedal assist bicycle meet all international requirements, including individual components, electronics including batteries and lights as well as the entire bicycle system.
- Manage bicycle testing done by 3rd party labs and supplier labs to ISO 4210 and other similar standards, responsible for auditing supplier test labs for compliance for current test procedures, and owner of documentation of completed full bike testing.
- Review test results to ensure all aspects have been tested and approved, and complete test record for each model that references all applicable testing done in house and by 3rd parties.
- Maintain Specialized RSL and PRSL, keep track of the changes that are relevant to our products & packaging and add those chemicals to our RSL, communicate changes/updates with suppliers and resolve open issues, work with SGS or other test labs to ensure suppliers can easily test to the RSL(s), manage report collection with Assemblers, and ask new supplier sign-off the RSL and PRSL documentation and upload into Agile database.
- Adapt compliance systems from time to time to support continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences with 1-2 years of work experience (Outstanding fresh graduates with no work experience will also be considered)
- Hand-on experience in Excel, Jira, Confluence and PLM software
- Knowledge of international battery and electronic regulations is a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese are very important for working in our fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Ability to assemble, replace or switch the spec parts and components for certification tests
