About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bryan is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout Central Texas, including Navasota, Bryan, College Station, Brenham, Madisonville, Huntsville, Caldwell, and Hearne. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary according to client needs and may take place in homes or facilities, depending on location. Caregivers must be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Full-time and part-time hours are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.
Compassion and a desire to provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, going to medical appointments, and taking walks.
Act promptly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
