About The Position

The Converse Home, a long-standing nonprofit assisted living community, is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Community Life Coordinator. The role focuses on building relationships with residents and designing programs that bring joy, purpose, and connection to daily life. Working alongside the Community Life Director, the Coordinator helps support residents’ emotional, social, physical, and spiritual well-being and contributes to a vibrant, engaging community. The schedule is part-time every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements

• Experience working with older adults; experience in assisted living, recreation, or social services is preferred.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for planning engaging programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A warm, team-oriented approach and a good sense of humor.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to residents’ changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and share a monthly calendar of engaging programs and special events.
• Lead group and individual activities that encourage participation and enjoyment.
• Learn residents’ life stories, interests, and preferences to build meaningful relationships.
• Partner with other departments to create community-wide events.
• Keep activity spaces organized, welcoming, and ready for use.
• Track and document resident participation and engagement.
• Use the Best Friends™ Approach to support residents living with memory loss through compassion, dignity, and connection.
