Community Engagement Coordinator, ETX

GIRL SCOUTS OF NORTHEAST TEXASTyler, TX
Hybrid

About The Position

The Membership Recruiter is a community-embedded ambassador who inspires families to join Girl Scouts and ensures every girl can access an outstanding troop experience. Rooted in the GSUSA Community Engagement Model, this role builds meaningful relationships in assigned geographic communities, identifies opportunities for membership growth, and converts interest into new girl and volunteer members. Recruiters bring the Girl Scout value proposition to life by understanding the needs of families, reducing barriers, and connecting new members to strong, sustainable troops. They use data to guide decisions, collaborate closely with Placement and Volunteer Support, and model an “Unreasonable Hospitality” mindset to ensure every prospective family feels seen, welcomed, and supported from their first interaction. The core purpose of this role is to grow membership by recruiting new girl members and new adult volunteers to serve as troop leaders. This involves building strong, culturally connected community relationships that increase visibility and access for families, launching new troops and filling existing troops, ensuring a seamless handoff to Placement and Volunteer Support, and centering the family experience by listening first, removing barriers, and guiding families through joining. Recruiters represent GSNETX with excellence as the trusted “GS person” in the community.
