Community Coach II Full-Time IDD
About The Position
InReach seeks a Community Coach to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in community activities, at home, and at work sites in Charlotte and surrounding areas. The coach provides individualized support according to each customer’s needs and goal plan, helping customers participate in work and other activities, explore interests, and socialize. The role requires reliable transportation using the employee’s vehicle, documentation, maintaining customer health and safety, preserving confidentiality, and keeping required credentials and training current. Hours are Monday through Friday, with schedules ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; weekends may be needed. Work locations vary based on customer needs, including areas 28277 and 28203. The rate is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
Requirements
- One year of Supported Employment/Job Coach experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and special populations.
- Vocational experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to provide customer transportation using a personal vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support at work and during activities in the Charlotte area.
- Assist customers on the job through job coaching.
- Document work and activities.
- Help customers explore new things, pursue their interests, and socialize.
- Oversee customer participation in activities as described in the goal plan.
- Maintain the health and safety of everyone.
- Provide reliable transportation using the employee’s vehicle.
- Maintain credentials and training.
- Assure confidentiality.
