About The Position

InReach provides supports and services across the lifespan for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. The organization focuses on individual needs and provides appropriate support in the most independent setting possible.

The Community Coach provides one-on-one support to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in community activities, at home, or at work sites in Charlotte and surrounding areas. The role includes job coaching, helping customers explore interests and socialize, overseeing participation in activities described in individual goal plans, maintaining health and safety, providing transportation, completing documentation, maintaining training credentials, and protecting confidentiality.

Requirements

• One year of Supported Employment/Job Coach experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and special populations.
• Vocational experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to transport customers using your vehicle.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support at work and during activities in the Charlotte area.
• Assist customers on the job and provide job coaching.
• Document work and activities.
• Help customers explore new things, pursue their interests, and socialize.
• Oversee customer participation in activities as described in the goal plan.
• Maintain the health and safety of everyone.
• Provide reliable transportation.
• Maintain required credentials and training.
• Assure confidentiality.
