About The Position

InReach provides supports and services across the lifespan for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. The organization focuses on each individual’s needs and aims to deliver appropriate support from caring, qualified staff in the most independent setting possible.

The Community Coach provides support to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in community activities. Activities may take place in the individual’s home, community, or work site in Charlotte and surrounding areas. The role involves one-on-one support at work and during activities, job coaching, helping customers pursue interests and socialize, and overseeing participation in activities described in their goal plans. The coach also helps maintain health and safety, provides reliable transportation, completes documentation, maintains training credentials, and assures confidentiality.

The position is full-time, with Monday–Friday hours that may range from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; weekends may be needed. Locations vary according to customer needs, including areas 28227, 28202, and 28262. The rate is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Requirements

• One year of supported employment/job coach experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and special populations.
• Vocational experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to provide customer transportation using a personal vehicle.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.
• Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities
