About The Position

BCI is seeking a Communications Production & Projects Co-op student/Intern for the Fall 2026 work term (September to December). This role is within the Creative Production Hub, which is responsible for how BCI Communications produces, brands, measures, and governs its content. The position offers hands-on experience in design support, event production, and the measurement, governance, and audit work essential for a modern communications function. It provides a unique opportunity to observe the operations of an enterprise communications team at scale. The work contributes to BCI's mission of generating more than returns, creating possibilities for clients' beneficiaries and communities.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience working from templates and style guides, with the ability to apply brand standards consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail when proofing written and visual content.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to stay focused and calm in fast-paced, day-of event environments.
  • Active listening and note-taking skills to capture requirements from meetings and business partner conversations.
  • A research and analytical mindset — comfortable working with data, documenting processes, and drafting frameworks for review.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and emerging design and content tools, with a willingness to learn and experiment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with digital asset management, design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva), digital publishing or CMS platforms, video production, or basic data and dashboarding tools.
  • An interest in or basic understanding of the institutional investment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support across design, event, and digital projects, utilizing templates in PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe tools.
  • Assist in maintaining BCI’s digital asset library, including tagging, naming conventions, and metadata.
  • Take active notes in design intake conversations to accurately capture business partner requirements.
  • Update recurring program content such as session agendas and intro slides, and proofread event materials.
  • Support day-of logistics for events like the Strategic Partners in Leadership (SPIL) workshop, webcasts, and client education sessions.
  • Cross-post recordings, track follow-up distribution, and assemble printed materials for events.
  • Clean up tagging in the editorial calendar to support accurate reporting and help build reporting dashboards for the Communications Business Partner (CBP) community.
  • Draft process documents, templates, and checklists for workflows between CBP and Creative Production Hub teams.
  • Map the current digital platform governance model and assist in drafting a proposed governance policy document.
  • Conduct a content audit of The Exchange and Bull & Bear to identify stale content and gaps.
  • Research best-practice and emerging AI tools to improve content production and digital workflows.
  • Partner with Global Investment Communications and Employee Communications on Hub-supported initiatives.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc research, writing, and project support as directed.
