About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by identifying, initiating, and leading projects to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity through engineering and continuous improvement methods. You will improve capability on manufacturing equipment using a variety of tools which includes standard work, tier reviews, and kaizens. You will troubleshoot variation, perform root cause analysis, apply systematic problem-solving techniques, and implement sustainable solutions. You will engage in daily operations to resolve equipment downtime issues, assure quality and productivity, and meet service targets. You will create and maintain documentation, including specifications, preventative maintenance, and change management documentation. You will establish an extensive network of support (laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing) to help facilitate completion of assignments. You will communicate at all levels of the organization to drive direction and function as a technical resource within your immediate work group.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in an Engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)
Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military setting
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.
Demonstrated project leadership experience, teamwork, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience within a manufacturing setting with demonstrated strength in engineering and mechanical problem solving.
Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, and designed experiments are beneficial; and Six Sigma are beneficial; Green Belt certification is a plus.
Demonstrated capability and knowledge of equipment reliability concepts and methods.
Experience managing and optimizing plant utilities.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible to changes.

Responsibilities
