The S&P Global Energy Commodity Associate Program is a seven-month rotational development program with intake cohorts in March and September 2027. It begins with four weeks of structured training, followed by two three-month rotations across different commodity sectors. Participants gain broad exposure to energy and commodity markets before transitioning into a permanent price-reporting role. Rotations and final placements are based on business needs. Candidates who meet expectations and perform well will be offered full-time permanent employment at the end of the program. Based in Houston, participants join the Platts price reporting team and develop specialist knowledge in their assigned markets. They gather qualitative data and intelligence from market participants, conduct price assessments according to established methodologies, and write market commentary and news that inform pricing benchmarks and analytics. The program provides exposure to topics such as supply and demand, infrastructure, geopolitics, transportation, and regulation, as well as Oil, Power, Natural Gas, LNG, Coal, Petrochemicals, Metals, Agriculture, and Shipping markets. The role supports S&P Global Energy’s work providing commodity price assessments and information to customers around the world. Price reporters produce market insights that help customers anticipate market-moving events. Participants work with editorial, analytics, and research teams and are expected to uphold Platts’ standards for accuracy, transparency, independence, and ethical reporting. The role also encourages responsible use of approved AI and digital tools to improve research, analysis, and workflow efficiency.
