The S&P Global Energy Commodity Associate Program is a seven-month rotational development program with March and September 2027 intake cohorts. It begins with four weeks of structured training, followed by two three-month rotations across different commodity sectors. Participants learn foundational price-reporting skills and gain exposure to energy and commodity markets before transitioning to a permanent price-reporting role. Rotations and final placements are based on business needs, and participants who meet expectations may be offered full-time permanent employment at the end of the program. Based in Houston, participants join the Platts price-reporting team and develop specialist knowledge of their assigned markets. The role involves gathering and analyzing market intelligence, conducting price assessments in line with established methodologies, and producing market commentaries and news content that inform pricing benchmarks and analytics. Participants encounter topics such as supply and demand, infrastructure, geopolitics, transportation, and regulation, with exposure to Oil, Power, Natural Gas, LNG, Coal, Petrochemicals, Metals, Agriculture, and Shipping. Candidates for the March 2027 intake must complete an undergraduate degree by February 2027; candidates for the September 2027 intake must complete one by August 2027. Postgraduate students are also encouraged to apply. Students from all academic backgrounds are welcome, with particular value placed on degrees in fields including journalism, communications, business, economics, English, data analytics, sciences, engineering, energy studies, finance, and commodity-related disciplines. S&P Global Energy provides news, pricing, research, analytics, and sustainability solutions for global energy and commodity markets. The program offers training and experience in a diverse and inclusive workplace, within a global company focused on integrity, discovery, and partnership.
