About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to lead commissioning activities for large-scale semiconductor fabrication and/or mission-critical data center projects in Boise, Idaho. The role requires deep knowledge of control system architecture, field instrumentation, testing protocols, industry standards, and operational handover processes. The engineer will work collaboratively and manage multiple commissioning tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment. The position covers commissioning of control systems and field devices, process control functions, control panels, industrial communication networks, and monitoring systems supporting process utilities and mission-critical infrastructure. The engineer will review project documentation, develop and execute commissioning procedures, test and troubleshoot systems, coordinate with project stakeholders, support start-up and turnover, document commissioning activities, follow safety requirements, and provide technical mentorship. The role is on-site in Boise, with potential overtime and weekend work as project demands require.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of I&C systems, automation platforms, instrumentation, process controls, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with commissioning processes for mission-critical, high-reliability, and process-driven facilities.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, loop diagrams, control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, sequences of operations, alarm matrices, and I/O lists.
  • Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, BMS, or process automation systems.
  • Proficiency with I&C testing equipment, including loop calibrators, multimeters, signal generators, pressure calibrators, temperature calibrators, communication testers, and diagnostic tools.
  • Skill in developing commissioning procedures, executing test scripts, documenting results, and tracking deficiencies through resolution.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boise, Idaho.
