About The Position

At Nordstrom, Commission Sales employees contribute to the company’s customer-focused culture by providing excellent service, working as a team, and meeting sales goals. In Women's Apparel, the role involves helping customers build wardrobes for everyday life and special occasions. Employees listen to customers, offer styling and fit advice, follow up about suitable new arrivals, develop fashion and fit expertise, and recommend alterations or tailoring when appropriate. The position offers commission-based earning potential. The role requires building customer relationships through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools; maintaining a customer-ready department; staying current on products and trends; and supporting team productivity. Hours vary according to business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, event shifts, and occasional support for other departments. The position is seasonal and based at Los Cerritos Center.

Able to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped merchandise, including reaching overhead and lifting items.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard: Say Hello, Small Talk, Be Helpful & Sell, Fashion Authority, and Follow-up.
Build and grow a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools.
Provide honest, confident style and fit feedback to earn customer trust and loyalty.
Set and achieve personal sales goals and remain accountable for results.
Keep the department customer-ready through stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and merchandise recovery; participate in the bi-annual inventory count.
Maintain product and trend knowledge to serve as a trusted style resource.
Communicate openly, contribute to a positive team environment, and help the department stay productive.
Follow up with customers using the 2-2-2 Method, Nordy Club enrollment, and the Personal Book tool.
Work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including evenings, weekends, peak periods, holidays, and event shifts; occasionally support other departments.
