About The Position

This seasonal commission sales role is in Nordstrom’s Accessories department at South Coast Plaza. The employee provides customer service, fashion and product guidance, and relationship-based selling to help customers find accessories that suit their style and everyday needs. The role has commission earning potential, and employees are expected to meet personal sales goals while contributing to a positive, productive team environment. The position includes selling jewelry, handbags, wallets, luggage, scarves, sunglasses, and other accessories; explaining product features, materials, craftsmanship, and brand differences; and using Nordstrom’s 5-Point Selling Standard in customer interactions. Employees build customer relationships through in-store interactions, outreach, digital tools, Nordy Club enrollment, and the Personal Book customer-tracking tool. Follow-up uses the 2-2-2 Method: two days, two weeks, and two months after a purchase. Employees also keep the department customer-ready by stocking, re-merchandising, marking down prices, recovering merchandise, and participating in the bi-annual inventory count. The schedule varies according to business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, event shifts, peak periods, and occasional support for other departments. Physical demands include continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, reaching, and hand use, as well as handling bulky items and regularly lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
