About The Position

At Nordstrom, commission sales employees contribute to the company’s service culture and reputation by providing excellent customer service, building relationships, and meeting sales goals. The role focuses on helping customers feel good and look their best through fashion and product expertise, personalized recommendations, and follow-up. In Accessories, this includes helping customers complete their look and meet everyday needs with items such as jewelry, handbags, wallets, luggage, scarves, sunglasses, and other accessories. Sales employees educate customers about product features, materials, craftsmanship, and brand differences, and recommend items that fit each customer’s style and lifestyle. Employees deliver Nordstrom’s 5-Point Selling Standard, build a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools, and provide honest style and fit feedback. They set and pursue personal sales goals, maintain product knowledge, keep the department customer-ready, and collaborate with teammates. The schedule varies according to business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, events, peak periods, and occasional support for other departments. Pay is listed as $18.80 per hour; commission for apparel, shoes, and accessories typically ranges from 3% to 14.5%, and the position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
